Version of this information is 1.0 as of May 2011


This package contains the required Boot Block and the actual Firmware.
It contains as well a Flash Tool for convenient loading a new firmware
into a printer.



It is very important to first load the

	- Boot Block

and then the

	- Firmware

If you are unsure, pls. create a menu print (Press The online key and
then swicth on the printer.)

For following printer 24 pin models the Boot Block must be at least 1.10 -->

- 1125
- 1225
- 1325
- 1430

For this 9 pin model the Boot Block must be at least 1.00 -->

- 1318

If you see a lower version on your menu print out, or, you do not see a
Boot Block version at all compulsive the Boot Block needs to be loaded first!


caution!

If you load/flash the files in the wrong order you may damage the logic pcb
of the printer permanently!

STOP!

Please note further, carrying out the firmware upgrade is done at your own risk.
The printer can be damaged if the firmware upgrade is interrupted.
If you need technical on-site assistance to carry out the firmware upgrade

Flashing procedure Parallel

1.	Have the printer off and connected to LPT1:
2.	Press all 4 keys and switch on the printer
	If the printer has got more keys press the 4 most right
3. 	The Online and the Power LED will flash alternatively
4.	Send the firmware by copying it to PRN with this command -->
	copy/b filename.mot prn
5.	Alternatively use the Firmware Flash Tool version 3.5 or higher
	which is available an the support sites as well.
	Choose the correct file and press "Update"

Flashing procedure USB

1.	Have the printer off and connected to USB
2.	Press all 4 keys and switch on the printer
	If the printer has got more keys press the 4 most right
3. 	The Online and the Power LED will flash alternatively
4.	Start the Firmware Flash Tool version 3.5 or higher
	which is available an the support sites as well.
	Choose the correct file and press "Update"

Remarks:

-	The Firmware Flash Tool is part of this package
-	After loading the Boot Block into the printer
	the printer initializes. If doing so the procedure has to be repeatet from 2.
-	Depending on the actual level of your printer it may NOT initialize
	after flashing the Boot Block. In this case proceed with step no: 4 or 5
